Server not available
« on: December 28, 2014, 09:56:49 PM »
Here is what activision says "We are aware that players are having difficultly accessing the Multiplayer servers for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. We are working to restore services as soon as possible, however we currently do not have an ETA. We apologize for the inconveniecne and appreciate your patience."

Here is my question to NFO Customer support

Bob,

Potentially. Their master server is... flaky to say the least.

Hello,

I haven't seen any particular reports of master server issues. What kind of problem are you having in particular?

I responded
We currently are with another provider and looking to see if anyone else is seeing the issue were we are unable to connect to the server it times out. Our console says it is running and our rcon is active but players can not connect. We have been told it was activisions Master server having heartbeat problems. We all have been on other servers were they don't see a problem.
If you are nopt seeing any issue we I will talk with the rest to see if they would like to move companies. We currently have 1 20 slot COD4 server a 12 slot Battlefield Bad Company 2 server alone with a 20 slot Team Speak and small web page. What would our cost be and is there a file size limit on the COD4 server.

Awaiting a reply

Yes, the current master server/authentication issues should be experienced game-wide.  We have recently received multiple reports of clients unable to connect to servers for a period of about 30-60 minutes after a restart.  After the initial post-restart issues the servers seem to function normally.  This is an issue that Activision will need to correct.

We do not enforce any specific storage or file size limits for the game servers.  Our prices for the mentioned subscriptions would be as follows:

$19.95 - Public 20 slot Call of Duty 4
$11.95 - Public 12 slot Bad Company 2
$3.50 - 20 slot voice subscription (50% discount with active game subscription)

The total would be $35.40/month.  There are some locations that require a higher slot rate, such as Sao Paulo, Brazil.  You are eligible for a free website subscription with an active game subscription on the account.  This website subscription includes the following,

100MB storage
2.5GB bandwidth per month
1 MySQL database

If you have additional questions or concerns please let us know.

At this time I do not believe moving is a good option.

based strictly on trouble issue response and the interface, I would have to agree. NFO does usually respond withing minutes and the interface is so much easier to use.
